With reference to Mr. Chamberlain's Des-

patch No. 301 of the 14th. August last, I have the honour to

inform you that the Merchant Shipping Ordinances are now in

force, and to forward for your information the enclosed copy

on the 18th. September, together with copies of the Regulations

issued under Section 42 of Ordinance 36 of 1899.
